Cheryl Ewing, M.D.
Dr. Ewing is a surgical oncologist with a special interest and expertise in breast cancer and breast disease. The first medical professional to serve on the Foundation’s board, Dr. Ewing has been in practice for over 20 years. She is a full-time faculty member at University of California San Francisco and former Medical Director of Multidisciplinary Breast Program at Marin General Hospital. A long-time supporter of the Foundation and a member of our Grants Committee, she first learned of To Celebrate Life from her patients, many of whom have modeled in Stepping Out To Celebrate Life. They inspired her to get involved with the organization, and each year she looks forward to donning a tux and escorting these brave women on the fashion show runway.
The cause is also near and dear to her heart as she has cared for over a thousand women and several men with breast cancer. In addition, she has a sister, two cousins and many close friends who have been diagnosed with the disease.
Dr. Ewing attended Wayne State University Medical School, did her residency at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital - University of Michigan Medical School and was a Fellow in Surgical Oncology at the University of Chicago.
